Prepare to be inspired, delighted, and entertained at the first annual Diablo Improv Festival, the Bay Area’s premier celebration of improvisational theater!

You’ll enjoy unforgettable performances from top-tier improvisers who take the craft to the next level – including our world-famous Saturday night headliner, THE GROUNDLINGS! –  laugh while you learn at improv workshops designed for all ages and experience levels, and meet new friends at meetups, parties, and jams. Performers, Teachers, and Producers

The Diablo Improv Festival features performances by The Groundlings, Your Favorite Story, Secret Improv Society, Spontaneous Mind, The Book Club, BFD, Synergy Theater, The Bay Area High School Improv All Star Invitational, But of Mind, Nibling Rivalry, and Regina Saisi & Tim Orr.

Workshop teachers include Kat Koppett, Jennifer Lavenhar, Mark Duncanson, Diana Brown, Regina Saisi, Tim Orr, Kenn Adams, Jaime Rich, and Geraldine Carolan.

Tickets to the OPEN JAM and Welcome Party are open to all participants and attendees.

The Diablo Improv Festival is presented by Spontaneous Mind, DKW Productions, Synergy Theater and The Lesher Center for the Arts.

FAQs

  • Individual tickets and packages are both available on the Lesher Center’s website.

  • The festival includes workshops and performances for the whole family, including a workshop for kids aged 5-11, a workshop for teens aged 13-18, a performance by and for local high school students. (Pre-teens aged 12 may choose to join the kids or teens class, depending on experience and maturity.) The festival also features a workshop for seniors, aged 55+

    While the festival offers plenty of options for youth and adult beginners with no experience, please note that many of the workshops and performances are more appropriate for adults and/or experienced improvisers, so read descriptions closely. Children under school age should not be brought to regular performances.

  • The Welcome Party at Up the Creek Records will include light refreshments, beer, and wine provided by producers and sponsors.

    The Lesher Center offers a refreshment cart and full bar during evening performances.

    Many restaurants, cafes, and bars are located within walking distance of the Lesher Center. We recommend Lettuce for lunch — it’s the closest option for a quick, nutritious meal made with high-quality ingredients. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. The beverage selection includes iced tea, soda, sparkling water, coffee, wine, and beer.
